| Seeds were started on 8/27/2003. By 8/31 all the Frostbite seeds had sprouted and the seedlings fully emerged. Plants were vegged under 24/0 lighting until 10/16, when they were placed in the flowering room under 12/12 light schedule. All plants were harvested on 12/20 (day 65).
Plants were grown SOG style in 4 gallon square pots. All lower branches/nodes were trimmed off to increase budmass in the upper (main) colas. Soil was Miracle Gro potting soil, with GH series hydro nutes given for fertilization. Soil/nute amendments & supportives added: Biohumic/fulvic acid, "Dark Energy" plant supplement, and finely crushed eggshells.
This was a fairly easy to grow plant, not at all fussy. It was described as being primarily a "single cola" strain (columnar) and my experience with it upholds that description. It was branchless and held true to type as a columnar plant. One plant was too vigorous during the stretch, and had to be topped in order to stay within bounds, but the plant still remained quite branchless even after topping.
It was also described as a very heavy yielder -and again, my experience with it fully supports that description. This plant gets HUGE! In fact, I would strongly suggest staking these feisty critters up during flowering -they get so fat and so heavy that even a thick stem isn't able to support the weight of the buds.
Taste was surprisingly powerful, given the relatively low odor of this plant. It produced a very intense pine/cedar flavor, rather like smoking incense rather than cannabis -simply excellent. The effect was somewhat couchy and overall quite pleasant, tho it gave a powerful attack of the "munchies."
Overall I was quite pleased with this strain, and would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a heavy yielding SOG strain for indoors.
