| I decided to give this strain report after giving the plant a real long cure time. I noticed when testing it right after harvest that I felt it had not reached it's full potential. The high was pretty quick, and the taste was harsh, and so was the smoke. But after a few monthes cure, Tha-Tanic turned into my fav headstash as of yet.
Grow: This plant was slow in the vegatative stage, it was the last of my seedlings to pop the surface. the plants were small and seemed to grow much slower thena my Sweet Cindys. The didn't seem sensitive to nutes, they just ddin't seem to do much with them. I didn't notice much side braching wiht this plant/
Thaitanic really took off when I switched over to flowering, it easily tripled in height. This plant does not like to be overwatered, in fact it grows faster when allowed to dry out more than seems right (at least to a new grower). In flowering, make sure you are tying down this plant. Mine weren't tied down, but I ended up having to lay the branches down horizonally. I had about four branches that were essentially covered in buds from top to bottom. Unless you have 8ft of vertical space you won't be able to gorw it otherwise. These plants when hermie VERY late in flowere maybe the last week. I pulled off bananas when I saw them, and ended up with may 10 seeds in all of the buds I harvested.
Yeild: Since thaitanic responded really well to being "tied down" I ended up with about 12 ounces off of three plants. The nugs looked great when they were on the plant, but when they dried they were really light and "flat" looking. So not so much for bag appeal.
High: Like I said, this plant benefits from a long cure. I have been smoked thaitanic pretty exculively for a month or so and you do build a tolerance to it, but not too bad. Whne you first take a hit, you feel your head kind of tingle and then a slow burining near the back, like someone has turned on "the backburner" in your brain. As you pull a few more hits, you can feel yourself sailing away, not so much a "flying" feeling, but the feeling you get when you are on a boat and you are watching the water rush past the stern and you realize you are goign really fast, but feel it in your gut. The thing about thaitanic is that it will allow you to have your ultimate experience within any moment. It is a very emotional high, not at forceful, but can allow you to feel pwerful emotions depending on the situation you're in. LIke say you smoke a big joint and then head out to your fav restaurant, as you are walking to the restaurant you can suddenly feel the best moment you ever had walking down a street on a chilly night. I remembered walking down broadway in NYC on the way to a sushi place i loved, and you can smell the smell of that night, the diesel NYC smell, everything. It also allows you to hear things really deeply, and colors become more vibrant and liquid. After getting "used" to the high, its not as racey, and I tend to come down after about 2-3 hours and want to sleep desperately. The next day you can still feel a little high.
Garden Information for this report I grew in a c22 which is 6 ft high and 4 wide and only 1 1'2 feet deep. I grew using metro mix, a soil-less mix, with 10% perlite. I used Age old Oragncis grow throughout veg. I vegged or two monthes untila 400 watt MH. I flowered under a 400 watt HPS and used tiger bloom three tsps. per gallon once a week. The thaitanics took 73 days of flowering time. |
