| I ordered K2 from Nirvana for my first grow one and a half year ago.
I got my ten seeds via mail and planted three of them right away into soil, then added some water and placed under 11w fluoro. All germinated within three days and I kept those babies under that same light their first week.
Then it was time for my very first growing room. It was 1.5-2 sq.ft closet with 105w of fluoro light, 5 x 21w bulbs were hanging from the roof of that closet, and positioned an inch away from plants. I couldn't provide ventilation, but not that I would have needed - heat is not an issue with 105w of fluoro, and basically I was manually ventilating all the time :) first grow, right.
After 4 weeks veg I switched 12/12, and after two weeks from that I realised I got 3 males. Those males were quite stable looking similar brothers until one of them showed some pistils too. Chopped after 2 weeks flowering at 2-3 ft, lacked potency even for male plants.
Then I germinated one more K2 along two of nirvana's NL. This one looked a bit different in veg than her earlier brothers. Those boys were branching nicely while this one was the opposite. It went from one to three feet after a couple of weeks 12/12, it was one stick with quite thin leaves, especially after moving to 12/12.
At the same I got a K2 plant that my friend had grown. He couldn't continue growing at the time and there were some space in my garden after removing one male NL plant. It was ready to flower, shoved sex fast and was similar to the males I got earlier. This branchy and bushy femme ended up 3 ft as well.
I was more than delighted how this bushy pheno started to flower, but at the same time this weird "stick" pheno wasn't doing that fine. It could have been because the circumstances were not similar to these plants, 'stick' got only 1 gallon pot while the other one was in a 2.5 gallon pot. Still there were something else wrong with this stick, because it curled all of its leaves somehow under, but showed no kind of burn signs. I think it was just a poor individual plant, nothing else. It showed one pair of male flowers at the end of the flowering and I found few seeds from the bud.
Well, after 9 weeks flowering I was amazed how good the yield looked like considering my low light levels and inexperience. Chopped bushy at 62 days and 'stick' at 69 days after keeping a couple days dark. Hanged those buds about a week after placing into jars. The 'real' k2 plant yielded two jars of dry bud and the 'weird' pheno a bit under one. Don't know in grams, but I know it was a good yield at least for me at the time. Not every strain work well with flouros and low light levels, this was the best trait in K2 in my opinion.
Smoke was definitely indica. Funny but physical. It wasn't as potent as the NL, but still quite effective. Smoking a lot of it sent me always to the floor and watching the roof dancing.. On the other hand it developed tolerance fast, and after a while it was only NL to send me to the floor. At the end the high even felt a bit boring compared to other strains I smoked at the time. 7/10 is how I could describe the potency, but because it builds tolerance fast, it's more like 6/10 or 5/10. It was quite smooth to smoke but lacked taste a bit or/and had some hashiness in it. Still enjoyable.
+ Easy + Works well with fluoros + Yield
- Builds tolerance fast - Not overwhelming potent
This strain is good for beginners, but also for the people with cf's who want to ensure that yield is going to be big enough, even if you have just a few compact fluoros. On the other hand, if you are looking for a heavy indica with connoisseur's high, I would pick something else then. Still I was truly happy with this plant overall, thumbs up.
Garden Information for this report 1.5 - 2 sq.ft. closet with 5 cf's 21w .. ~105w, hanging horizontal from the roof. I fed with some beginner's stuff, N-based in veg and 1-16-20 for bloom. Not too good. No ventilation. Temps around 27-29C. |
