| This time growing AK47 I got lucky, one seed was all I needed. Having problems with this plant on my first grow, I decided to try it again and this time I made a few changes. I started my change with some new soil from Fox Farm (Ocean Forest). I added tons of perlite to the mix and watched in amazement at the growth frenzy that happened. I vegged this AK47 female under a new 430w HPS Son-T bulb, witch provided much of the blue spectrum needed for rapid vegetative growth. After my first rough start I also decided to change fertilizers. I purchased Canna Terra series Grow/Bloom nutrients and fed them once in the last week of 50 days of veg (half dose).
I topped this plant once, and got two main stems. I also purchased Canna Rhyzotonic. Fearing this female would get rootbound I transplanted @ about day 52 into a nicer, larger 3 gallon pot with nice drain holes (adding Superthrive), the 3 gallon grow bags weren't cutting it any more (re-usable).
Immediately following the transplant I put her in flower (12/12) and watched 'n waited. Many good people gave me great advice with my AK47 grow; I want to thank them all now for their efforts. With my temp's staying @ 82º with one central air conditioner, my electric bill was never a concern. Odor with these plants was minimal; I kept my walk in closet heavily ventilated to the attic, supplying fresh air constantly from outside. Resin production was heavy from week 3 onward, gushing out from the calyxes was a Luden's cough drop clear slime that stuck to everything. Resin production reminds me of a lot of Bubblegum plants I've seen, pulsating THC producing monster nuggs is all I have to say... Incredibly photogenic, this plant begs you to photograph her. I highly recommend her to any one just for the aesthetics and smell value. Overall this plant was pretty easy to maintain.
Smoke Report:
The smoke is very spicy, fruity in nature... I've heard it described as cherry and I concur. The stone is a very narcotic one. I let this plant go for 74 or so days; a lot of trichomes were dark colored. The smoke makes you cough and your eyes can water. Definitely bowl/bong weed. I hope I covered all the corners of this grow, thanks to everyone who helped along the way, and mega thanks to everyone who voted for me on Picture of the Week for this plant.
