| Placed one White Rhino seed in wet paper towel on 8 May 2004. You may say this is a risk to get a female but the reason is because I have "tried" to grow WR before and used 3 seeds from the same pack and I ended up with 3 males that time. So I thought that statistically the first seed that I'll take out of the pack should be most probably female.
Anyway, I planted the sprouted seed into a small pot on 11 May 2004. I vegged the WR till 11 July 2004 and took 6 cuttings from her. I'm saying "her" because after 2 months of veg she already showed her pre-flowers (tiny pistils).
After 10 days of cloning (rock whool + humidity dome + clonex + love) I got 5 healty rooted clones (one didnt make it). I placed the clones in my 3 bucket DWC system (2 plants per bucket). I have vegged them for another 2 weeks to get them used to the new environment and based on previous grow reports about WR I waited them to grow at least 18 inches. Later I realised that I shouldnt vegged them that long in DWC because they have streched like hell!
After extended efforts of tieying, pruning, bending, squizing them I managed to fit them in my rather small grow box. I know I have torchered them alot but I had to do. Many of the lower buds couldnt even got enought light and here and there I have observed starting of bud-rot.
The smell during veg was not that much but later in flowering it became a bit of a problem but I managed to airate my room frequently and with the help of some car air freshner.
I pulled down the majority of the branches on 30 September 2004 at Day 52 of flowering. I have watched the trichs turn into cloud and some were becoming amber. There were only 50% red hairs but I decided to go by the microscope. I know they could have gone for at least a week but didnt wanted the famous "couchlock of White rhino". I have left the lower branches for another week and cut them down. All of the buds was covered with crystals which I always enjoy and expect from a strain. I had some nice scissor hash after the trimming and manicuring process as a reward!
Anyway, because of these un-planned things I ended up with less weight I was planning but managed to fill 2 large mason jars after drying. They are still under curing process but I've already started consuming them...
Ok, the smoke report; May be its because I pulled the girls down a bit early or may be the phenos I got was a bit sativa oriented (un-controllable strech!) I avoided the couchlock effect of WR. There is still the body buzz though which I love. The high is really twisting my perception of the environment which, again, I love most. I have smoked many hazes so I know the sativa high, I can say that my WR harvest became "close" to that level and taste. I'm really satisfied with this harvest in all aspects. Really worth the $15. Higly recommending this strain from newbies to advanced growers.
