| The Lifesaver was my first real grow. I experimented with some bagseed once but I went no-holes-barred on this last round. Many of the issues to be graded on I'm sure would be a 1-3 points higher if I had more experience and a more optimal environment to grow in. The grow itself was a roller-coaster starting from week 1. I germinated 5 seeds, all had nice taproots except for one that had a short taproot. After planting they were vegged for 60 days to reach a height of about 24 inches. In this time period, one of the 5 had some bad looking problems (leaves browning and curling, soon becoming necrotic). I took it outside and threw it in the garden through the last week of veg and it began to flower. Luckily the bastard was a male. I only had one other male which was destroyed as early as possible. This left three healthy females inside a male outside.
In flower, a second plant began with the curling necrotic spots. I took her out to the garden under the sun and pollinated her with the male that had been waiting for her to show up. She stayed outside for the rest of her life and yielded some decent seedy buds (although only about a half ounce). The two remaining indoor plants went a full 61 days and some change before they were harvested. I still think they may have been a little early but due to time constraints, they had to go. The two plants had significant differences leading me to believe that I had a sativa-dominant pheno and an Indica-dominant pheno growing. The shorter (Indica) yielded about an ounce and a half while the larger sativa plant yielded closer to two ounces dry bud.
The smoke report is still underway, as the cure is about 75% so far. Both batches are still relatively greeny smelling (like homegrown), but have a very fruity scent when broken into. Tons of hairs and crystals guarantee a heavy high, and so far I've found that high to be relatively heady- and like I was expecting, a potency that leaves you wanting to take a nap. Not a great weed to work on, but it makes for a chilled party!
