| This was my first grow, I only germinated one Ice seed (along with a few other seeds of other strains). It sprouted and turned out to be female (my only one actually). I cared for this plant well because she was all I had left. I was on a slight time constraint so I only vegged for a little under 4 weeks. She started showing sex around a week into flower.
I used LST at the beginning of flower to try and mazimize yield, it worked extremely well! Many budsites formed, but they start to grow around mid-way into flowering. The crystals start coming up around week 5 in flowering, but they slowly form all over the plant and it looked wonderful! By the end of flowering the plant was absolutely covered in trichs and resin!
The pistils were still only around 40% red, but the trichomes were mostly cloudy and I harvested on day 55 of flower. She didn't smell much at all during flower, only when disturbed. She has a citrus-y, fruity smell, but it becomes more perfumy after harvest. She was a bit hard to handle with the nutes, the leaves would curl up when I ferted but she still showed signs of deficiencies, but it wasn't a big problem I used Fox Farms soil and ferts and they worked nicely. I ferted every watering, but this was only around once a week, then up to once every 4 days in late flowering.
I don't know the exact yield because I do'nt have a scale, but because of the LST she made many budsites and I think the yield was around 2.3 ounces total. The buds aren't dense at all though, quite fluffy but I don't mind this, they smoke extremely well! The smell, taste, and high are all superb and they're much better than the top notch stuff we buy here. I'd recommend this plant to anyone who likes theyr buds covered in trichs! Easy on the nutes though, and I'd recommend to use LST, this strain responds well to it. The high is more couchlock than I'd hoped for, but I still like it a lot. Puts you in a happy mood after just a couple of hits, then it slowly brings you down over an hour and it ends up making you a couch potato for the second hour.
Garden Information for this report 400W MH for veg. and 400W HPS for flowering. Fox Farms Ocean Forest Potting Soil (w/30% added perlite), Grow Big for veg. and Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom for flowering. Started vegging fert after 2 weeks, fed last veg. fert on first day of flower, then began flowering nutes. Watering was only needed once a week at first, then she drank it up in 3-4 days towards the end of flowering. |
